Cleanram.dopus
Arexx script

What is it ?
This is an arexx script you can use to delete all files in ram disk.
System requirements :
Directory Opus 4.12
Yes I don't like the 5.0 one. I could'nt try it with this new version of
DirOpus but I don't think it will work.
How does it work ?
It deletes all files in ram: except the 'system directories'
(Clipboards,ENV,T) and the icon file (Disk.info).
It is fast because it uses the delete command from WorkBench instead of
using DirOpus itself to select and to delete the unwanted files (like
other scripts I found on Aminet)
It is nice because it refreshes the display in the DirOpus windows to
make you see the changes done by the delete action. And if you were in a
directory which has been deleted, you go back to the root dir (RAM:).
This is very usefull when you test PD stuff: you extract an archive in
ram:, then you get in the directorie(s) created and then you decide to
clean the ram disk to extract another archive. It is as simple as clicking
a DirOpus button or selecting a menu item.
Installation :
If you are a DirOpus expert like me you are already trying this script,
perhaps deleting this document (are you mad ?)
But if you don't know well the DirOpus Configuration Program here is what
you can do :
- copy the file called 'rexxsupport.library' in your libs: directory
- copy the file called 'configopus.clip' to the directory T
you'll find in ram:
- go to the configuration program.
- go to the 'Buttons' menu or the 'Menus' one.
- select a button / menu item you want to use to execute the
cleanram.dopus script.
- use the right mouse button to select in the menu the 'Paste' action.
- select the 'Clean RAM' item and click OK.
- then change the path to set it where you put the script
(i.e hd0:s/cleanram... or rexx:cleanram...)
- and save the config.
Distribution :
This script is completely FreeWare. You can make any change in it (just like
adding the files you want to keep in the line (command delete ram:...))
If you add features to the script, please report to me so I could use
your enhancements. (use mail address above or the E-mail address in the
.readme file thanks)
History :
I think this is the first and last release of this Arexx script.
Thanks to Edmund Vermeulen (author of the LhaDir.dopus script I recommend)
I don't know a word of Arexx language but his script was so detailed I
could easily understand it and 'steal' information to write my own script.
This is why I put a lot of comments in cleanram.dopus which can help you.
Personnal note :
Edmund I don't know if I had to ask you for some authorisations but I just
wanted to help Amiga users releasing my script (I hope you don't mind (?)).
Only Amiga makes it dreamable !
